Great 19th Century Italian Painting, Saint John The Baptist

Great Italian painting from the first half of the 19th century. Oil on canvas, first canvas, painting depicting a religious subject, Saint John the Baptist, of excellent pictorial quality. Painting that, as a setting, takes inspiration from a famous Saint John the Baptist by Guido Reni, where the saint is depicted with more youthful features and in a mirrored position. Painting that develops vertically, of exceptional size, for antique dealers and collectors, ideal for placing in a living room or study. In a beautiful patina, the canvas has undergone a conservative restoration (with a patch on the back) in the lower right part (see photo). Painting that shows some signs of aging, overall in good state of conservation.
