Ornamental as desired, this beautiful corner shelf in gilded wood with "Italian Baroque" style leaf from the end of the 19th century is decorative and useful. Three shelves, one in the low belt with a drawer in the middle and two others in steps, uprights worked and decorated in the corners with scroll cheeks decorated with sunray motifs developed with a beautiful sculpture, the shelves bordered with shell motifs for the last two, the lower one less loaded with its central drawer moved by a bronze button with a facade and sides in false drawers carved with frieze motifs. The top which sets the tone is in the manner of a rich theatre curtain with canopies and trimmings, with beautiful pleating and remarkable movement and fall, the two interior cheeks in chevron frame, framing motifs of fire pots with handles on very well executed and very decorative bases, above highlighted by a garland of falling pearls, gilded ceiling. This imposing hanging shelf in a corner is in good condition and its original gilding preserved, it is a curiosity piece, useful solid in good condition, luminous with its bright gold and well argued, without a doubt an original piece of furniture from the end of the 19th century inspiring for an Amateur or a decorator in search of exceptional pieces.
