"Le Lavandou By Edouard Doigneau"
Gouache on paper from the early 20th century, depicting a landscape of Lavandou in Provence. Painting signed lower left "ED.Doigneau". Édouard Doigneau (1865-1954) is a French painter known for his Breton scenes, his animal representations and his orientalist works. Trained at the Académie Julian, he traveled to Brittany, Camargue and Africa. A member of the French Artists, he won a gold medal in 1906. Mobilized in 1914, he was seriously injured and decorated with the Legion of Honor. His work, mixing realism and impressionism, is exhibited in several museums in France. Good general condition.
