With mark.
Bronze figure on a pyramidal base in veined stone representing a young woman in exotic clothing, crouching, holding a snake in her hands. From a stylistic point of view, it presents details that allow it to be placed in the Art Deco style and, as for the subject, we know of pieces where she appears as a dancer and others that link the scene to the death of Cleopatra under the blows of the asp. A disciple of Auguste Dumond at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Claude-Marie Devenet received a third class medal at the Salon of 1882 and a bronze medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1900.
