Bronze with brown/black patina - gray marble base - some minor wear. In 1917, studied with Tobari Kogan (student of Rodin), entered the Research Institute of the Pacific Painting Association. From 1924 to 1928 he was the only student of Aristide Maillol. On his return he extended his production to dry lacquer, thus mixing Western-style forms and ancestral Japanese material. 1951 - Exhibited at the 1st Sao Paulo Biennale - Member of the Japan Academy of Fine Arts in 1952 - professor at the Tokyo University of the Arts In 1983, he was awarded the Order of Cultural Merit - Works notably at the Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo (as well as the Akone Museum, Sapporo).
