"Southwest Pottery: Green Glazed Earthenware Stoneware"
South-West pottery: beautiful and small green glazed earthenware gresale (or tian). A significant chip on the edge, a crack formerly restored but still visible on the inside. This restoration is solid, it does not call into question the general solidity of the gresale. Otherwise in very good condition. The enamel, still very well preserved, is resplendent. Old and decorative. Versatile container widely used in the south and southwest of France, as well as in Spain. It is roughly the equivalent of the current basin. The gresale is used for the preparation of food (making jams, preserves, pâtés, sausage meat, etc.), to collect the blood when killing the pig. Its use has extended to tableware. The gresale is not a dish for cooking food, but only for preparing it. It is not made to withstand cooking temperatures. Another gresale for sale on my gallery. Free shipping for mainland France.
