Oil on canvas depicting The Café de la Paix welcomes the troops and sees the soldiers marching through Place de l'Opéra. Soldiers on leave and Parisians coexist on the terrace of the Café de la Paix in Paris. A rare respite for men worn out by several years of fighting. Based on the original charcoal drawing by Louis SABATIER (1863-1935).
