"First World War Drawing Album 1916, Vanities, By A Soldier Or Prisoner Artist"
Very rare album of drawings from 1916 on a German notebook made by a French artist, soldier or prisoner to be identified. This album contains 23 drawings and a text on the artists written in French as well as annotations. The set includes 13 "vanities" studies of skulls, 4 portraits of men, 1 portrait of a woman, 1 study of a teapot, 2 studies of dogs, 1 soldier playing the bandjo, 1 abstract face study. All were made in May 1916 and until June 2. It should be noted the strength of these drawings which say a lot about this soldier artist. All the photos can be sent on request.
