"18th Century - Gilded And Silvered Wood Sword"
Exceptional 18th century statue sword, central Italian manufacture, entirely in carved wood. The blade is silver leaf, while the hilt and grip are gilded with pure gold leaf. Both parts preserve the leaf in a more than excellent manner, in addition to having no defects, which is extremely rare for similar objects. Note the quality of the twisted carving in the hilt handle and the state of conservation of the gilding, which in some places allows a glimpse of the preparatory layer underneath. A wonderful object as it is, but ideal for completing a sculpture or a piece of furniture. ???? Dim. cm 33.5 x 12.5 x 2
