René Denert created a ceramics workshop in Vierzon in 1908, taking advantage of the significant ceramic activity that had existed in the city since the beginning of the 19th century and his experience as a ceramist in Golfe-Juan. This company, after the arrival of René Louis Balichon in 1910, became the Société Denert et Balichon in 1921. The production, initially essentially artistic, then included a vast catalog1 of vases and decorative objects in stoneware marketed under the Denbac brand, before developing into series of advertising pieces such as bottles for liqueurs. In 1933, the company participated in the creation of the Jardin de l'abbaye de Vierzon. After the death of its creator in 1937, the activity declined. The company was put into hibernation during the Second World War, restarted with difficulty after the Liberation of France in a more industrial form and finally ceased production in 1952. The workshops and the remains of the ovens, private property, are still visible in Vierzon, rue Camille Desmoulins.
