"Nymphe De Diane De Mme Signoret-ledieu"
Nymph of Diana by Mrs. Signoret-Ledieu" Known under the title "Nymph of Diana", this statue represents Diana the Huntress leaning over a dolphin emerging from the waves. Important bronze group with original medal patina, placed on a rotating base (width 31 cm), H86 cm old cast from the late 19th century, numbered and benefiting from remarkable quality work. The base is included in the height indicated. On the base appears the name of the author Mrs. Signoret Ledieu A Basset publisher and foundry stamp Paris AB and numbered 10436 who had presented a copy of this sculpture at the 1891 Salon. Work of very beautiful appearance according to its age, slight alteration of use of the patina. Lucie Signoret-Ledieu was born in 1858 in Nevers, she was trained in her art with the sculptor Jean Gautherin and from 1878 she exhibited at the Paris Salon until 1902. His talent recognized by numerous awards, his sculptures are visible in museums and we also note a large statue of Joan of Arc inaugurated on the square of the town of Saint-Pierre-le-Moûtier in 1902.
