Satsuma Earthenware Small Footed Vase, Meiji Period

Antique finely crafted Satsuma footed vase, featuring intricate hand-painted designs with delicate gold detailing, including the characteristic raised dot gilding. The artwork depicts a noble courtly scene set against a traditional architectural backdrop. The central figure, an elderly nobleman gestures with authority, while attendants and courtiers stand around him. Female figures in elegant attire add a sense of grace to the composition. Above, a meticulously rendered gold geometric pattern encircles the vase, enhancing its luxurious appeal. The piece condition appears consistent with age, exhibiting characteristic crazing typical of Satsuma ceramics. The inscription on the bottom is in the form of two gold hieroglyphs in a highly stylised "decorative" font.
