"Venetian Brass Plate Decorated With The San Marco Lion"
Beautiful Venetian plate in stamped sheet metal (brass or gilded iron) decorated in the center with the Lion of St. Mark. These plates were used in Venice to offer "frittole", fried sweets on the occasion of Christmas and, above all, for Carnival. The models were based on the alms plates of the 16th century.
