Excellent panoramic view overlooking the distant town of Hayle from the beach as three fishermen row their boat ashore from the shallows. A prime example of the artist's work capturing the idyllic calm waters of Hayle from the beach reflecting sunlight on its surface. The hazy silhouette of the factory in the distance recalls the contrast between the emergence of industrialisation and the simplicity of coastal life at the time. Presented in an ornate period frame. Signed. Edmund G Fuller, born in St Ives, Cornwall, was a local coastal painter and genre painter who remained in Cornwall all his life, painting the coastal views, customs and people of the area long before the arrival of the Newlyn School.
