"17th Century Single Hand Clock Movement."
Rare 17th century single-hand clock movement with a weight and counterweight system. The dial is in chiseled and gilded bronze decorated with cornucopias from which flowers and foliage escape. It is inlaid with twelve enameled plates, each bearing a Roman numeral indicating the hours, separated from each other by a small gilded bronze plate decorated with a flower. It is topped with an openwork gilded bronze plate decorated with four cupids sounding trumpets framing a head topped with a rooster.
The movement, fully restored by a quality clockmaker in the early 2000s, is not guaranteed to be in working order and may require a little cleaning. These clock movements were placed on a console supporting them, without a wooden case.
