Important Pair of Candelabra in gilded and chiseled bronzes with "Greek" decoration and Louis XVI style crystal ornamentation with five lights including four branches and a central torch signed Eugéne Hazart (1838-1891) on a base, Paris 19th century circa 1870. Rare model for sale by Eugene Hazart. Superb original condition. Dimensions: 59 cm Width at branches 28 cm Base diameter: 18 cm Architecture: The Candelabra has a very wide round base, with a flat molded and stepped outline, Signature on one of the candelabra. It is decorated with a heart-shaped decoration, the type used on the temple of Minerva Poliade in Athens. Details on the heart-shaped: The heart-shaped are a classic ornamental motif, composed of heart-shaped leaves alternating with spearheads. The whole is surmounted by a circle of large pearls. The base ends with an upper part in the shape of a bell, decorated with beautiful falls of laurel sprays, buttons of attachments and gadroons. Central shaft in the shape of a Greek column sheathed and with frames, at its base decorated with acanthus leaves and round ring, and ends with four heads of Rams in the upper part distributed on each face of the sides of the sheath. On this sheath start four branches "à la Grecque" molded and with frames decorated with acanthus leaves, and ends with a pine cone. the four fires are composed with basins, sockets and bobeches richly decorated with applied laurel leaves and gadroons. The top part which makes up the fifth fire is in the shape of a flaming torch, decorated with grooves, gadroons, stylized acanthus leaves and hollow and flat and round moldings. The large flame is removable and forms the extinguisher for the candles, composed of a wide socket with its removable bobeche. Composed of beautiful crystal falls, such as falling faceted pearls, diamond points, and large smooth drops.
