A superb Chinese Coromandel screen from the early 20th century, a testament to the fine craftsmanship of the Qing Dynasty. Composed of four folding panels, it has a black lacquer background beautifully decorated with relief scenes depicting Chinese landscapes, pagodas, bridges and figures in action, enriched with hardstone (possibly jade) inlays. In the lower part, animals with strong oriental symbolism add a touch of mystery and elegance, while the reverse is enhanced by gilded floral motifs. One of the figures has been restored, preserving the authenticity and historical value of the work. Perfect as a decorative folding partition or as a unique artistic piece that will enhance any interior.
