Object description :

"Jean-claude Taburet (1926-2013) - Mermaid"
  • Here is a very unusual piece, a rare clay sculpture by the artist Jean-Claude Taburet (1926-2013) in his studio in Quimper.
  • A unique piece, dated 1991 and signed.
  • Is it Dahut, the daughter of King Gradlon thrown into the waves by Saint Corentin and transformed into a mermaid after giving the keys to the city of Ys to the devil. Who opened the doors and let the ocean submerge the Breton Atlantis… It even seems that some fishermen can sometimes still hear the city bells ringing the tocsin under the waters in Douarnenez Bay…
  • Superb piece

  • Price: 950 €
