Important Gilded bronze cup or centerpiece signed *Auguste Moreau End of the 19th century. The cut glass cup surrounded by a gilded ring is supported by two gilded bronze cherubs with curly hair, one carrying a quiver slung over his shoulder with delicately chiseled feather wings, the other with dragonfly wings. It ends with a molded black marble base. Signed A.Moreau on the terrace for *Auguste Moreau. Original gilding cleaned by our workshop. *Auguste Moreau1, born February 22, 1834 in Dijon and died November 11, 1917 in Malesherbes, is a French sculptor. Auguste Moreau belongs to the Moreau family, a dynasty of sculptors from the 19th and early 20th centuries. He is the son of Jean-Baptiste-Louis-Joseph Moreau and the younger brother of the sculptors Hippolyte Moreau and Mathurin Moreau. His children Louis Auguste Moreau and François Hippolyte Moreau were also sculptors.
