Albert Nolet – Boats In Port – Oil On Canvas – Signed

Originally framed seascape, showing us a fishing port at low tide, under a heavy sky, in Brittany or Normandy. In the foreground, we see the shore and a sailboat, accompanied by a canoe with two men on board. A character stands out from the quay thanks to a red scarf. Further away, a brick sail contrasts with the silhouettes of the fishing boats. The sea is silvery under an immense sky heavily laden with clouds.
The composition is dramatic, and demonstrates a great sense of color.
The painting is signed lower left.
The work is in good condition, despite the accidents suffered over time (restorations visible on the back). It is offered in a sober black lacquered frame (some minor accidents).

This painting was painted by Albert Nolet, a French painter active in the second half of the 19th century. Nolet painted the ports of Normandy and Brittany.
