Gaillac, view of the Gaillac countryside. Tarn school mid-20th century. Maurice Gayral, born in Donnazac, canton of Cordes (Tarn) studied at the Toulouse School of Fine Arts, then became a drawing teacher in Castelsarrazin, then at the college of Castres (1894-1897, then 1901) and finally in Gaillac in 1901. He then became a professor in Paris in several painting academies. Student of Jean-Paul Laurens, Emile-Georges Weiss, Paul Renard, Jules-Eugène Pagès, Benjamin Constant and Emmanuel Fremiet.
