Laure Levy (1866-1954) was a French painter and miniaturist born in Paris on 7/24/1866 and died in the Perigord on 3/31/1954. She was a student of Lenglet and Spiridon and was a full member of the "Salon des Artistes Francais" starting in 1889. Listed in the Benezit
The Salon des artistes français is an art exhibition held every year in early February in Paris.
It presents paintings, sculptures, architectural works, engravings, and more recently photographs, etc.
Held since then, it succeeded the Salon of the Academy of Fine Arts, heir to the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture.
The annual Salon has been organized by the Society of French Artists only since 1881. The Society of French Artists was recognized as being of public utility by a decree of May 11, 1883
