"Huge Zoomorphic Iron For Tying Horses, Florence 15th Century"
Spectacular wrought and sculpted "campanella", with a zoomorphic terminal. These objects were used to tie horses outside buildings. Particularly widespread between the 13th and 17th centuries. Based on a stylistic analysis, this example probably dates back to the 15th century. A particularly large example (45 cm high, ring diameter 20 cm) and robust, in splendid condition. It comes with a custom-made iron support to enhance it, but it can still be walled up according to its original function.
