"Great Deposition From The Cross Circa 1900"
Large Deposition from the Cross. oil on canvas, circa 1910 A stencil mark on the back of the canvas and supplies merchant "Hardy rue du cherche midi" This very expressive large format is probably the work of a French artist who traveled to Italy and Spain. We find in the figures in the foreground a strong evocation of Italian painting. The whole is very constructed and rich. The composition mastered. The artist remains to be identified.
