"Set Of 4 Empire Period Solid Silver Flambeaux Candlesticks - Rooster Hallmark"
Rare set of 4 Empire candlesticks / torches and their bobeches in solid silver. Double balluster model, the base decorated with acanthus leaves, they are in a column with a Corinthian capital at the top. They are complete with their removable bobeche to hold the crystal cup. Our candlesticks bear the 1st Coq hallmark in use between 1803 and 1809, the average guarantee hallmark, and the signature of the goldsmith that we have not yet identified. Beautiful model with sober lines. Solid silver candlesticks are rare: we are used to finding pieces in silver-plated bronze rather than this precious material. A set of 4 is exceptional and even rarer! They are an incomparable complement to adorn a party table or furnish a room. Very good condition, slight deformations (clean and polished silver, without scratches, no monogram). Height: 24.5cm Diameter: 12.5cm Net weight of silver: 4 x 260g = approximately 1kg.
