Sloping desk stamped Louis DELAITRE. Louis XV period. Second quarter of the 18th century. It rests on four arched legs. The sides and back are curved. It opens on the front with two small drawers, a large drawer and a flap. The interior consists of four drawers, a trapdoor and four compartments. The top is covered with Havana-colored leather gilded with small irons. Lock entries and sabots in gilded bronze. One original lock and three more recent functional ones, equipped with four old keys, one with a fleur-de-lis. Black stamped varnish finish. Louis DELAITRE Received master on November 19, 1738. Excellent cabinetmaker, he produced Louis XV and Regency style furniture in his workshop on rue Saint Nicolas until the 1750s.
