Pair of large covered porcelain vases with a pot-bellied shape and rich floral decoration called Hue Blue (cobalt blue on a white background), 18th or 19th century. The Hue Blue decoration, in reference to the Imperial capital of Vietnam, is recognizable by this deep cobalt blue color under enameled glaze. It is generally a production from southern China which was intended for the mandarins of the Imperial court in Hue. This type of large decorative piece is typical of the souvenirs brought back from the Far East by Navy or Colonial officers in the 19th and 20th centuries. Large format, very furnishing pieces and great decoration. Ideal to complete an 18th or 19th century decor. In perfect condition for one, and a hair on the second.
