COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL OF THE CHINA CAMPAIGN, created in 1861, signed Barre, Second Empire. 27130 Round medal, in silver, engraved by Désiré-Albert Barre. Obverse presenting the effigy of the crowned Emperor with the legend "NAPOLEON III EMPEROR" bordered by a crown of laurel leaves. Reverse engraved with the inscription "EXPÉDITION DE CHINE - 1860" and the names of battles "TA-KOU, CHANG-KIA-WAN, PA-LI-KIAO, PE-KING". Signed "BARRE". Diameter 3.09 cm. Yellow silk ribbon bearing in Chinese ideograms "京北" the name of the city of Beijing, woven in dark blue silk threads. Width 3.6 cm. France. Second Empire. Very good condition, silk ribbon slightly sunned.
