"at The Office" French School Circa 1800. Hst

"At the office". Very pretty genre scene depicting a kitchen brigade preparing a meal. Each character plays a role. The scene, very well balanced, reveals a host of details, such as a hen and a broom on the ground as well as a basin in the foreground. The cook in front of his stove tests the sauce being prepared, a clerk coming down the stairs brings the necessary items while in the center a game is plucked leaning on a table around which 2 people are chatting. This subject, not often treated, full of life, shows us the excitement of such a scene. This oil on canvas (original) needs cleaning. There are 2/3 very light scratches as well as tiny paint skips.
