Depicting An Animated View of the Place Royale in Brussels in the Rain, Painted in 1931.
Alexandre Denonne, 1879-1953, Belgian painter of interiors, urban views, beach scenes, portraits and animated parks. He was a student of Constant Montald at the Academy of Brussels and of Jean Henri Luyten at the Academy of Antwerp. Moving away from his master, he began a new episode in his career, around 1930, with a lighter and more impressionist painting showing Brussels urban life and animated beach scenes. He exhibited from 1902 but did not join any group. Works in the Museums of Antwerp, Ixelles, Tournai and Riga. Artist listed in Bénézit (with example of signature) in Arto (with working photo) and in Piron. Artprice, Artnet and Akoun side
