"Medusa, Alfredo Bardini Desk Lamp 1960"
Large Italian desk lamp, Medusa by Alfredo Bardini in Murano Venini glass circa 1960. This lamp is original, of very fine manufacture and very sought after. It is signed on the base and has a sticker affixed to it from the Bardini glassworks. Barbini began his long career in 1925, at the age of 13, working in the SAIAR Ferro Toso factory. In 1929 he joined the Cristalleria di Venezia e Murano as a master glassmaker. He left this company in 1932 to work in a glassworks in Milan, but returned to Murano to work first in the new company Zecchin & Martinuzzi and then at Seguso Vetri d'Arte. From 1936 to 1944 he was a partner and master glassmaker of the Societa Anonima Vetri Artistici Murano, known as SAVAM. Mini pellet inside the globe, invisible to the eye from the outside. See photo.
