Baluster vase (due to its shape) in brown glazed Hirado porcelain with an iron oxide glaze and two scepter-shaped handles on the top. Hirado porcelain is a type of porcelain made mainly in Mikawachi, Sasebo and Nagasaki, in the former feudal territory of Hirado, owner of the kilns and responsible for production. The Taisho period was that of the government of the emperor of the same name, and lasted from July 30, 1912 to December 25, 1926. -
