František Tichý (March 25, 1896, Smíchov – October 7, 1961, Prague) was a Czech painter, illustrator, graphic artist and stage designer.
He was one of the important figures of the Czech avant-garde of the 20th century. In his work, painting and graphic art on the theme of the circus play an important role, which had a deeper subtext related to the author's reflections on the nature of artistic creation, the meaning of life, the destiny of man and his existence.
