Watercolor signed G. de Bernardy and dated 1832 on period blue-gray paper. A pleasant bucolic scene. Finesse of the drawing, gradation of greens, flow of the waterfall and the river perfectly rendered. The artist who signed G. de Bernardy possibly has a family connection with Jean Pierre Auguste de Bernardy (known as Auguste de Bernardy), former mayor of Aubenas and deputy under the July monarchy. A G. de Bernardi born in 1824 (for Gustave de Bernardy) signed the book "La Révolution" in 1873 but it is difficult to believe in a youthful drawing.
