"Apothecary's Chevrette, Good Condition, Northern Italy, 17th-18th Century"

Pretty shaped piece of Italian majolica, this Chevrette decorated with foliage scrolls in blue monochrome on either side of a band bearing in Gothic letters the formula "Syr Betonicae" in manganese. (Betony Syrup). Handle is decorated of flowers. At same period, Mme de Sévigné consumed it regularly, see last photo….. Circa 1700, Northern Italy.
Very good condition, no flaws, some wear under round base,
