In the center of this desk opens a retractable lectern in writing case, upholstered in green leather with vignette and braid, gilded 'with the balance'. The top, in the shape of a 'kidney', is encircled by a gallery in gilded bronze. Two small drawers open, on either side, at the front of the piece of furniture. It rests on two "lyre" legs, connected by a spacer furnished with an upholstered footrest. Very good original condition for this small, unusual desk.
