Circa 1800-1810 France Normandy Bonne Grâce, wall-mounted bed sloping in madder red Normandy Indian fabric with neoclassical decoration. Part of an early 19th-century bed set with medallions of vases and scenes of Bacchus laden with oak leaves and laurel leaves. Neoclassical decoration arranged with large antique-style vases topped with medallions depicting mythological figures. Originally piped with an indigo silk ribbon. No holes or stains, the madder red having retained all of its tinctorial power. Excellent condition for its age. Dimensions: 230 cm high by 66 cm wide.
