"Consulate Period Console In Mahogany And Mercury Gilded Bronze"
Mahogany console table from the Consulate Empire period, early 19th century around 1800-1805. Thick Sainte Anne grey marble top, the belt decorated with a palmette and star motif in chased and mercury-gilded bronze. A perfect example of the Consulate style or the very beginning of the Empire, this pretty console table is decorated with "obelisk" front pilasters, which gives it great elegance when perfectly vertical uprights would make it "stiff". Our piece of furniture is in very good condition with an old French polish cleaned and repolished by our cabinetmaker. No loss of veneer. Small format, easy to place anywhere. Width: 97.5cm Height: 91.5cm Depth: 42.5cm
