The Blue Stone, Pastel On Card By Ugarte, 1985

Jean Pierre Ugarte studied at the Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1966 to 1971. Then began a period of reflection on his art during which, having completed his military service, he traveled visiting the museums of Northern Europe, while living off the proceeds of the sales of his paintings. Little by little, his career as a painter developed, with a first opening in Montauban in 1984, followed by others in Paris, Toulouse, Nice, Bordeaux, then Pau where he painted for many years in his studio on Boulevard Barbanègre. Since 2002, he has exhibited at the Galerie Modus, located Place des Vosges.
