Located southeast of Tehran, the small town of Véramin made rugs that most often featured the timeless 'mina khani' (daisy pattern), like this one. Elegant Véramin on a brick background, in zaronim format, featuring the 'mina khani' pattern over its entire surface, surrounded by three borders. A main 'hérati' * border and two small geometric borders. This is a real Véramin and not a Véramin made in Khorasan (northeast Iran). Note: slightly trapezoidal rug.
*Border herati (or samovari): this pattern consists of small flowers depicted on the borders surrounding the rug. It is found on the majority of Iranian rugs.
