Very pretty small Mazarin desk in fruitwood, solid walnut with black painted rechampi work on the moldings in the manner of certain Dauphiné furniture.
This desk is composed of a rectangular section box with six drawers and resting on eight turned baluster-shaped legs with black rechampi, connected to each other by two X-shaped spacers with a central bobèche and themselves resting on ball feet or also called rave feet in slightly blackened wood.
This desk therefore opens with six drawers on the front mounted with dovetails, some of which have locks but there is no key.
The top is superb and only has a small V-shaped graft on the left visible in the photos. This desk is in very good general condition, there is no attack of wood-eating insects but a preventive treatment was carried out in the workshop.
Superb patina of the waxed walnut.
Charming Louis XIV style work dating from the beginning of the 19th century, a child's Mazarin desk, a rare piece of furniture in its small dimensions.
