Superb Carrara marble bust representing the Countess du Barry, after the work of the famous sculptor Augustin Pajou (1730-1809). A piece of great finesse signed Alfred Jean Foretay (1861-1944), a French sculptor renowned for his works of very high quality. The white Carrara marble highlights the delicacy of the features and the elegance of the drapery, faithful to the Rococo spirit.
