"18th Century Polychrome Wooden Reclining Angel Sculpture "
Rare and large sculpture from the 18th century representing a reclining angel. This sculpture of great realism shows an angel lying on the right side, just covered with a perizonium or loincloth. The features of his musculature, the details of his face with closed eyes, his hair, the work of his hands and feet, all this shows a quality and very realistic work. A flat on the top of his thigh clearly shows that this sculpture is presented lying down, on the back are old races of wings sign that it was indeed an angel. This sculpture is entirely covered with its original polychromy with some repairs. Probably Italian work of high quality and in very good condition. Restoration on the left hand.
