"Directoire Period "clothes Throw" Sofa Upholstered In Lelièvre Silk - 170cm"
Finely carved beech sofa, model with fluted front legs, topped with a connecting die in rose and Etruscan saber front legs. The belt carved with a row of piastres, armrest supports with fluted balusters, the backrest with scroll. It is newly upholstered in silk gourgouran with Champagne-colored lines (Fontenay model by Tassinari and Châtel). Our seat is a Parisian manufacture in the style of Jacob from the Directoire period, late 18th century to mid-1790s. It is interesting to note that this type of seat is the transitional style between the Louis XVI style and the Empire: the front of the seat is still very Louis XVI, while the back with the scrolled backrest and saber legs announces the Empire style. It is ideal for a living room, or to place in a bedroom used as a "clothes thrower" Excellent condition. Horsehair trim on its straps, it is newly upholstered in silk with black braid. We had 4 matching cushions made. Very bright set, a good combination of modern and old. Sofa length: 170cm Height: 87cm Seat height: 41cm
