""the Angel Of The Annunciation" Hst Italian School Circa 1700"
Beautiful Oil on Canvas from the Italian School around 1700, depicting the Angel Gabriel descending from heaven for the Annunciation. The Archangel is depicted in profile, holding out a branch of Lily, one of his attributes, a symbol of purity and attachment to the Virgin, he points a finger towards the Heavens and is surrounded by clouds. His face is very pretty and his tunic floats giving him a beautiful drape. On its original frame and canvas, with some restorations, visible on the photo of the back. The edges have been crafted to avoid marks if we find a frame for him. More information on request.
