"Second Empire Dueling Box And Its Tools"
Luxurious dueling box from the Second Empire period, including two percussion pistols. This box is complete, with regard to the tools. It contains a ladle, a hammer, a screwdriver, a bullet mold, a powder horn signed B. in Paris, a capsule box, an oil can and two sticks for cleaning the barrels. The barrels are numbered one and two in gold. The locks, the hammers and the trigger guards are finely chiseled with floral decoration. The barrels are eight-sided and blued (slight trace of oxidation see photos). The stocks are made of solid walnut. Original box in black ebony, interior in red velvet. Original key to close the box.
