Alexandre-Charles Masson is a French painter born in Paris around 1880. He exhibited regularly in the main Parisian institutions, notably at the Salon des Artistes Français, where he received an honorable mention in 1906. His work is mainly figurative. There are many genre scenes, marines mainly produced in Brittany: Douarnenez, Pont-Croix, Concarneau, Saint-Malo. Fascinated by the maritime world, he accurately captures the tranquility of ports, where time seems suspended between sky and sea. Masson's works continue to be recognized and appreciated, with several of his pieces presented at auction.
