Portrait of a lieutenant-colonel officer of the 39th infantry regiment, probably the Bourbon regiment, decorated with the Order of Saint-Louis, white jacket, crimson facings, golden buttons, signed "Borgnis pinxit 1778". Borgnis CJ, French painter of the 18th century. The Lille museum preserves his portrait of Madame Anne-Marie de Mont'hiver Coppens (1735-1784). He also painted a portrait of the Prince of Rohan. Oil on original canvas, good condition, canvas re-stretched on original stretcher (treated), restorations (note a small restoration at the level of the signature on the letter G due to a lack of the colored layer, photos on request before restoration), restorations on the frame.
