Discover this elegant French Dauphiné Louis XIV period commode, slightly curved at the front, featuring four drawers in three rows. It stands out with its refined marquetry of strips, cubes, and geometric patterns arranged in a lattice on the top, sides, and front. The veneers in plum, burled walnut, olive, boxwood, and amaranth, mounted on a coniferous wood frame, showcase exceptional craftsmanship.
The rounded, marquetry-adorned posts add harmony to the ensemble. The commode is embellished with chiseled and gilded bronzes, including drawer pulls and keyholes, enhancing its luxurious character.
This piece, of excellent craftsmanship, perfectly illustrates the work of the Dauphiné region from the late Louis XIV period.
