"Paul Petit Painter Lorraine Seaside"
Paul PETIT (1885-1960), seaside surely Normandy oil on canvas signed lower right format with the frame 44cm x 30cm, format without the frame 37cm x 22cm. Painter born in Dammarie-sur-Saulx (55) in 1885, he died in 1960. Away from fashions, his own talent was noticed by the art historian Robert REY. He was essentially a painter of Parisian urban landscapes, of the South and of the banks of the Meuse. He will make the fine arts of Dijon. He will exhibit at the Salon des Indépendants and in several galleries, Drouand, la Boétie… In the fifties, his works take on a solid market value.
